• The World Transmission (WT) Series has been designed to eliiinate the need for an OEM to install any external filters for the transmission. A main pressure filter and a cooler return filter are both included inside the various models of the World Transmission, which eliminates the cost for the OEM. They are cartridge filters and are accessible through the filter covers bolted on the bottom of the transmission on the control module.

• As a result of this design feature, external filters are not required nor are any external filters allowed to be used with any model of the WT. Use of external filters would restrict the flow of oil in the transmission system and effect the proper function of the transmission. Extensive testing was done to establiih the correct tiltration and pressure ratings for the WT. Aftermarket filters that provide lower micron filtration may decrease the flow and furthermore cause transmission damage. Filters with a higher micron racmg will not filter properIy to provide adequate transmission life; therefore, Allison-supplied filters are the only filters that are approved and warranted for the WT transmissions.

• Filter elements are interchangeable from side to side on a given model transmission, but may vary from model to model. model. Consult the appropriate parts catalog for part number and kit information based on transmission assembly number.
